THE EFFECT OF HYPOPHYSECTOMY ON THE REGENERATION OF THE LIVER AFTER PARTIAL HEPATECTOMY IN DOGS

Abstract
Hypophysectomy in dogs does not seem to interfere with regeneration of the liver. Severe and sometimes fatal hypoglycemia developed in a few of the completely hypophysectomized dogs after fasting. It was hastened and aggravated by partial removal of the liver. Changes in the color of the liver and pancreas have been noticed in hypophysectomized dogs.
