Abstract
Several researchers have focused on the possible impact of interview language on the psychiatric evaluation of the bilingual patient and have reported conflicting results and conclusions. It is suggested that the area is in a state of confusion that may be attributed to certain methodological weaknesses and inconsistencies in the research. The major flaws are examined here, and general guidelines for future research are suggested. Keywords
