Abstract
Two small-colony variants of S. aureus were isolated in pure culture from closed septic wounds after 16 hrs. on anaerobic plate and 40 hrs. on aerobic plates. Subcultures in the presence of 10% CO2 gave rise to normal -sized staphylo-coccal colonies.Keywords
