Abstract
It is suggested on experimental grounds that the phonon components of particle-vibration coupled states in proton-odd nuclei can be studied with two-neutron transfer reactions. We discuss the case of low-lying excited states in odd copper isotopes. Some evidence is found for a change in the particle-vibration coupling in going from to .
