Abstract
Braginsky's model-Z with viscous core-mantle coupling has been re-investigated using a slightly different numerical method. Braginsky's (1978) and Braginsky's and Roberts' (1987) findings were confirmed in general. An attempt has also been made to include electromagnetic core-mantle coupling into the calculation of the model. A difference was found in the behaviour of the geostrophic part of the azimuthal velocity but the meridional flow was scarcely affected. Some small differences can be found at the core-mantle boundary. Keywords
