Abstract
Although chalcogen elements have turned out to be extremely versatile for modern organic syntheses, little have been known about synthetic transformations using organotelluriums.1). Organotellurmiums are often difficult to handle, and thier approaches have so far been very limited. It is, there fore, worthwhile to device practical procedures for introducing tellurium, usually as convertible PhTe group, into organic molecules. Here we report on a convenient one-step synthesis of alkyl phenyl tellurides from alcohols using pheyl tellurocynate as a reagent. Keywords
