Abstract
A simple model is used to calculate the intensity distribution across a Kikuchi band as a function of thickness, using a two-beam Bloch wave representation of the incident and scattered electrons. It is found that the results agree approximately with the experimentally observed form and thickness dependence of this contrast. Keywords
