Abstract
Treatment of (1R,4S)-2-oxobornaneglyoxylic acid (1) with substituted hydrazines gave (4S,7R)-1-substituted-4,7-methano-1H-indazole-3-carboxylic acids (2). (4S,7R)-1-Phenyl-4,7-methanoindazole-3-ol (8) was synthesized by 2 independent synthetic routes. (4S,7R)-N-Substituted-4,7-methanoindazole-3-carboxamides (4a, b) were tested for their CNS stimulant properties on an isolated nerve-muscle preparation of bullfrog.
