Abstract
Fifteen patients with varying degrees of lagophthalmos and neuroparalytic keratitis were fitted with eye shields made in the field, and an assessment at 1 and 2 wk showed that there is a definite improvement in the eye condition and that the community''s acceptance of such a procedure is good. For introduction into the present leprosy control programs, an evaluation of the paramedical workers has shown that they require only minimal additional training.
