Abstract
Studies were made of the effects of colchicine on stages in the life cycle of Saprolegnia delica. Flagella formation in zoospores was inhibited when the sporangium was treated. Colchicine stopped nuclear division at metaphase in young oogonia, but did not stop nuclear division in the vegetative stage. With these exceptions, morphogenesis was not affected by colchicine in S. delica. It is proposed that there is either no spindle or a very primative type of spindle in the somatic nuclei. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
