Thalidomide in the treatment of chronic discoid lupus erythematosus

Abstract
Renewed attention was given to thalidomide as a useful drug for treating certain diseases, e.g., lupus erythematosus. The favorable results obtained in 5 patients suffering from chronic discoid lupus erythematosus, selected for the severity of their lesions and nonresponsiveness to chloroquine, are reported. A review of the pharmacological properties of thalidomide was given.
