Obesity: an Influence on High School Performance?

Abstract
Investigation of high school factors showed no differences between obese and nonobese students. Factors examined were IQ scores, PSAT and SAT scores, grades, absences, nurse visits, enrollment in extracurricular activities, and further schooling plans. The lack of differences in obese and nonobese students, particularly in the important area of grades, led to the conclusion that prejudice against obese college applicants, shown in a previous study (1), was not so much a result of high school teacher prejudice as it was of admission interviewers.
