Abstract
During the improvement stage of treatment in two myopic diabetics, dark rosette cataracts occurred suddenly in the central and upper lenticular quadrants. The diabetes had developed acutely but without ketosis. The opacities disappeared in 2-4 wks. The underlying physico-chemical mechanism may be a rehydration under treatment. Temporary cataracts have been reported in untreated diabetes when there was a state of dehydration. The common operative factor appears to be a change in hydration. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
