Abstract
To the Editor: The problem of accurate localization of parathyroid masses with commercially available ultrasonographic equipment has been emphasized in the article by Edis and Evans (September 6, 1979 issue) and the letter by Moureau et al. (March 6). We want to report our experience in the detection of hyperfunctioning parathyroid nodules.We used a second-generation whole-body scanner (Delta 50 FS, Ohio Nuclear): the scanning time per double slice was 27 seconds, the slice thickness 8 mm, and the field diameter 25 cm.
