Abstract
As we study the growth of ethnic studies a women's studies and the fate of the curriculum transformation projects, we are at once enthusiastic and cautious. Providing leadership from the margin - supplyingp course and faculty members for newly approved “diversity requirements” and leading faculty development programs aimed at re-educating other liberal arts and science scholars is the exciting part. But we have also experienced the painful struggles establishing, often on a shoestring, programs of integrity and scholarly credibilityKeywords
