Abstract
The properties of vitreous selenium–arsenic films important for xerographic application are reviewed in terms of direct and inferred knowledge of their structure. Charge transport properties in particular are sensitive to factors affecting the ring and chain arrangement of atoms characteristic of selenium polymorphs. Composition, purity, evaporation–deposition conditions, and aging influence structure and are critical in determining xerographic performance. Keywords
