Abstract
Light of 193 nm wavelength ionizes polyA, polyC, polyG, and ss and ds DNA in aqueous solution in a monophotonic process giving hydrated electrons and radicals that result from the radical cations of the bases; there is spectroscopic evidence for positive charge migration in DNA from adenine to guanine moieties. Keywords
