Abstract
The prevalence and severity of dental fluorosis were studied in 6 Arizona communities whose water supplies had fluoride concns. ranging from 0.4 to 0.6 ppm. Community fluorosis indices obtained in these cities were compared with indices available from selected Midwestern communities. Fluorosis occurs at about twice the intensity in an Arizona community as it does in a Midwestern city with comparable fluoride concn. It is suggested that the extremely high temps. experienced in the Arizona desert area cause an increase in water intake resulting in increased ingestion of total fluoride. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
