Abstract
An efficient regioselective method for the direct arylation of 2-furaldehyde to provide a range of π-diverse 5-aryl-2-formylfuran derivatives is described. The method employs functionalized aryl halides and a catalytic amount of palladium(II) chloride under relatively mild conditions. Keywords
