Abstract
We have observed stress induced voltages and currents originating from ceramic YBa2Cu3O7-x. From studies of the temperature and frequency dependence of these signals we find that they do not result from simple Seebeck voltages via secondary temperature oscillations. We conclude that piezoelectric-like behavior occurs in the bulk or on the surface of this material with the unusually long time constant of 10−1 to 10 seconds. Keywords
