Abstract
Evidence is presented that rubrifacine, the red pigment of Erwiniarubrifaciens, is 3-(3-carboxymethyl-4,5-dihydro-4,5-dioxo-2-pyrrolyl)-4,5,6-trihydroxypyridine-2-acetic acid, based on mass spectrometric and nmr data of rubrifacine, its hydrolysis and reduction products as well as their methyl derivatives. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
