Abstract
Summary Past, multocida oxidizes pyruvate according to the Krebs cycle model. Iso-citrate dehydrogenase, aconitase, succinic de-hydrogenase, fumarase and malic dehydroge-nase were demonstrated with cell-free extracts or disrupted-cell preparations. The organism synthesizes aliphatic and aromatic amino acids from pyruvate carbon atoms. Formate carbon was incorporated into the serine-group of amino acids, alanine, the Krebs cycle intermediates and related amino acids, and nucleic acids. Keywords
