Abstract
Sym-diphenyl-and tetraphenyl- hydrodigermanes were obtained in about 75% yield by phenylchlorogermane or diphenylchlorogermane coupling with magnesium amalgam. A similar reaction with phenylchloro-and phenyldichloro-germane leads to 1,2,3-triphenyltrigermane. Radical halogenation of phenylhydropolygermanes with carbon tetrahalides and N-halosuccinimides give the corresponding phanylhalodi-and trigermane.
