The Management Motive Among Male College Students.

Abstract
Recent research has reported declines in the will to manage and in the motivation to pursue a managerial career among college students. Previous research was based upon a projective methodology. This research examined these declines utilizing a cognitive methodology. The results corroborated previous research and suggested that the projective and cognitive approaches to measuring the will to manage and motivation for a managerial career are complementary not alternative methodologies. Additionally, all students, regardless of grade point average, perceived the instrumentally of a managerial career for valent outcomes equally. Further analysis of this will to manage and managerial career motivation phenomenon is being done for female and black students.
