Blind Proficiency Testing in Urine Drug Screening: The Need for an Effective Quality Control Program

Abstract
The quality control program for a toxicology laboratory performing routine drug screening on a mass scale is described. Emphasis is placed on the requirements for laboratories with large sample volumes which are subject to external monitoring via blind proficiency testing. However most procedures described can be adapted and used in laboratories of any size.
