Relationship of Bison Weight to Chest Girth

Abstract
Data for 100 males and 29 females of Bison bison bison covering a wide age range were fitted to a power relationship of the form: Y = e.alpha.X.beta. where Y = weight of entire carcass, X = chest girth, e = 2.7183 (the mathematical constant, base of natural logarithms), and .alpha. and .beta. are coefficients. The regressions presented should prove useful, especially since bison are beginning to be ranched extensively.
