DERMATITIS in the course of streptomycin therapy was noted by Heilman and associates in 1945.1 These authors warned that, though such cutaneous lesions do not call for cessation of treatment with streptomycin, it is important for one to be on the alert for severe dermatitis. In the report on streptomycin by the National Research Council,2 49 cutaneous eruptions were mentioned. These were erythematous, urticarial, maculopapular or hemorrhagic. Steiner and Fishburn3 reported 7 cases of rashes occurring during the administration of streptomycin. They stated the belief that these reactions are not toxic but allergic.
