Abstract
We show that the unrenormalized Hamiltonian in quantum field theory is unbounded from below whenever lowest-order perturbation theory indicates that this is true. We conclude that perturbation theory is an accurate guide to the divergence of the vacuum energy in quantum field theory. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
