Abstract
Giant pairing resonances, i.e., collective two-particle excitations built upon high-lying single-particle states, are studied in the lead region. Two-particle states (T=1) outside the core are found to be clustered in the nuclear surface. Our calculation shows that these states are the most excited in two-particle transfer reactions.
