New Chemical Constituents sf Planchonia careya. II. Bark Constituents Soluble in Light Petroleum

Abstract
Examination of the light petroleum extract of the bark of Planchonia careya has led to the isolation of stigmasterol, a mixture of triterpene monoketones and a series of triterpene diols including olean-18-ene-3β,28-diol (moradiol), and olean-12-ene-3β,28-diol (erythrodiol). Several minor constituents were also assigned as belonging to the germanicol family.
