Abstract
Taxonomic studies, based on biochemical and physical morphology, of the Sebastes aleutianus–S. melanostomus complex (family Scorpaenidae) resulted in the identification and description of new species, Sebastes caenaematicus, whose known range is Cape Flattery, Washington, to Cape Ommaney, Alaska. A synonymy and literature history for the complex is presented. Keywords
