Abstract
Six fossil localities in the Paskapoo beds are described. The vertebrate fauna of each is identified and correlated. None of these faunas is older than the Torrejon, and at least 4 are referable to the Clark Fork stage. This does not preclude the possibility of the Puerco and Gray Bull stages being represented by unfossiliferous portions of the series. The presence of a Clark Fork fauna within the disturbed belt dates the last Rocky Mountain movement in Alberta as post-Paleocene. It is suggested that the Paskapoo beds represent the lowland and more aquatic facies of the Paleocene. The following mammals are described: Ptilodus cochranensis* (p. 172), Diacodon septentrionalis* (p. 175), Chriacus orthogonius* (p. 175), Ectocion collinus* (p. 177) and Meniscotherium semicin-gulatum.*.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
