Abstract
Among the many pseudo-problems traceable to inadequate definitions are those due to different interpretations of the horopter. The concepts of Panum and the stereoscopic zones of Roesch are emphasized in an analysis of different understandings which have led to different exptl. approaches. The anatomical background functioning as a result of different exptl. approaches is interpreted to be the reason for different exptl. results, particularly in connection with the conditioned reflex and perceptual studies.
