Abstract
"The 140 items originally scaled for social desirability during the development of the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) were rescaled using a group of veterans hospitalized for neuropsychiatric disorders." Among the results were the following: "There was no essential difference between psychotic and nonpsychotic patients in their judgment of the desirability of items . . . [and] . . . there was a high degree of relationship between the hospitalized group and the college and high school groups in the scale values of the items. In spite of the high agreement, there were systematic differences in the social desirability of subscales representing psychological needs.".
