Anomalies in the Distorted-Wave Born-Approximation Analysis ofCe140(d,p)Ce141

Abstract
The present results are compared with those of Ce140(n,γ)Ce141 and Ce140(p,p)Ce140 analog experiments. The (n,γ) and (d,p) results do not yield consistent spin assignments for six states between 1809- and 2523-keV excitation in Ce141. The use of conventional distorted-wave Born-approximation theory in the analysis of the (d,p) data is questioned. The available (p,p) analog data does not support either the (n,γ) or (d,p) spin assignments.
