Abstract
Treatment of the zero-valent platinum or palladium complexes (Ph3P)4M or (Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2)2M with perfluoroalkyl iodides represents a convenient synthesis of the perfluoroalkyl(iodo)-compounds (Ph3P)2M(RF)I or diphosM(RF)I (RF= CF3, C2F5, or C3F7). The new compounds are somewhat insoluble in organic solvents, but are stable in air. An oxidative-addition reaction also occurs between pentafluorobenzoyl chloride and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)platinum. Keywords
