Abstract
Unusual contrast effects in electron micrographs of a WC grain containing a grown-in stacking fault have been observed. Overlapping of partial dislocations in the network and extinction contours arising from the stacking fault are the cause of these contrast effects. An analysis to explain the observations as a function of orientation is advanced. Keywords
