Influence of Magnesium, Potassium, and Nitrogen Nutrition on Phosphoenolpyruvate‐Stimulated Carbon Dioxide Fixation1

Abstract
Synopsis: Homogenates from leaves of sweet potato plants grown in solutions low in K, Mg, and N were found to have a reduced capacity to fix CO2 in the presence of phosphoenolpyruvate. Addition of Mg to the assay restored activity to Mg‐deficient leaves, but addition of K to extracts from K‐deficient leaves did not.
