Abstract
A faint, regular giant halo has been discovered around the unusual planetary nebula He 2-111. The velocities and kinetic energy of the envelope are comparable with those of the Crab nebula, although there is no suggestion of non-thermal radiation in the planetary nebula. The coincidence between the position and the expansion age of He 2-111 and the probable supernova of AD 185 is noted. The dynamics of giant halos are briefly discussed. Keywords
