Macular Function and the Photostress Test 2

Abstract
A laboratory has been developed to use the technique of photostress testing for the evaluation of macular disease. In this report the results of testing in a selected group of patients are presented in order to demonstrate the potential use of the test. These cases illustrate the fact that in some patients the only evidence of abnormal macular function is a prolongation in recovery from photostress, and in certain diseases, serial photostress testing is a very sensitive diagnostic procedure to be used in following a patient's progress.
