Abstract
With laying hens fed on mash or pellets in individual cages, a multiple regression equation was derived relating intake of feed in 28 days to gain in weight, weight of eggs laid and bodyweight. The form of the equation was fairly stable from year to year and did not differ significantly between mash and pellets. The exponent and coefficient for bodyweight differed noticeably from some earlier results, perhaps because of the different weight of the birds.
