TRAUMATIC LUNG CYST

Abstract
Three cases of acute lung cysts resulting from nonpenetrating chest trauma have been presented. This entity—termed traumatic lung cyst—has been discussed with reference to its mechanism of development, its roentgenographic features, and an appropriate differential diagnosis. Emphasis has been placed on the author's opinion that traumatic lung cysts represent still another common, acute, primary pulmonary lesion peculiar to closed chest trauma.
