CONTROL OF THE ASTER LEAFHOPPER IN RELATION TO INCIDENCE OF ASTER YELLOWS AND EFFECTS ON SEED YIELD OF BARLEY

Abstract
Several contact and systemic insecticides were effective in reducing populations of the aster leafhopper. The reduced populations were associated with a reduced incidence of aster yellows in barley, flax, and lettuce and an increased seed yield of barley, particularly with insecticide treatments that provided good protection during the seedling stage.
