Abstract
An experimental numerical technique is developed for stress field evalua tion in photoelastic anisotropic materials. The method is based on using ex perimental data and basic equations of elasticity to obtain an overdetermined solution. Applications of the experimental numerical technique for stress field evaluation in disk under diametral pressure and balanced laminate coupon under tension is presented. Good agreement with the available theoretical solution for the first example was found. An ability of the present method to overcome some inaccuracy in experimental data near free bound ary is shown. Keywords
