Abstract
We have assumed a Fermi-gas model to account for the nuclear effects in the process . Various expressions for differential cross sections are derived as analytically as possible to bring out the physical features. The formulation is then used to analyze the preliminary Argonne data. The mass parameter in a dipole fit of the axial-vector form factor of the nucleon is found to be .
