THE FIBRE SIZE IN THE CAROTID SINUS NERVE OF THE CAT

Abstract
The carotid sinus nerve of the cat was examined with regard to its fibre size (calibre spectrum). The majority of the (medullated) fibres were between 2 and 4 n, a few fibres reaching a calibre exceeding 5/i. The conclusion is that the baroceptive impulses are conveyed by means of the more slender medullated fibres.
