Abstract
Digermyl selenide and digermyl telluride have been prepared by exchange with the analogous silyl compounds; the selenide has also been made from digermylcarbodi-imide and hydrogen selenide. The compounds were characterised spectroscopically and by their reaction with hydrogen iodide. The vibrational spectra of the compounds indicate that, as expected, the heavy-atom skeletons are bent at the Group VI atoms. Keywords
