Abstract
When radioactive isotopes are employed either as tracers or in therapy, it is important to be able to determine the radiation dosage. This cannot, in general, be measured, but when the half life, radiation energy, and biological uptake and excretion are known, it can be calculated. Since the basic information regarding radiation disintegration schemes and energies is scattered through many journals, it has been considered desirable to collect pertinent data. Two extensive tables are presented, for beta and gamma rays respectively, giving half life, radiation average energy, fraction disintegrating per day, and specific dosage data, including the safe tracer concn., for some 33 elements. Keywords
