Abstract
The 1H n.m.r. spectra of the complexes cis-[MCl2{C(NHR1)(NR2R3)}(PR3)], trans-[PtCl{C(NHR1)(NR2R3)}(PR3)2]ClO4, cis-[MCl2{C(OR4)(NHR1)}(PR3)], and trans-[MCl{C(OR4)(NHR1)}(PR3)2]ClO4(M = Pt or Pd; R1= Me, Ph, or p-MeC6H4; R2= H or Me; R3= Me, Ph, or p-MeC6H4; R4= Me or Et and PR3= PMe2Ph, PEt3, or PPrn 3 as appropriate) are described in detail and used to assign configurations to the carbene ligands in solution. Keywords
