Abstract
The hypophysis, together with some brain tissue, of adult river-lampreys (L. fluviatilis L.) was shown by means of injection into normal and hypophysectomized frogs to contain an anti-diuretic principle and a melanophore-expanding principle. Using uteri of virgin guinea-pigs, it was also demonstrated that the hypophysis of the lamprey contained an oxytocic principle. Keywords
